Community Gathering in Solidarity

Let's Light Up Lexington Together

The global Jewish family is mourning a profound loss following the murder of a rabbi and 14 others in Australia during a Hanukkah celebration. This tragedy is deeply personal for our local community as well — the rabbi was a relative of the Chabad of Lexington and Arlington families, who organize and sponsor the annual public menorah lighting in Lexington Center.

Jewish leaders have shared that continuing Hanukkah traditions — gathering, lighting candles, and being present together — is a meaningful way to respond to hatred with resilience, remembrance, and light.  Families, children, friends, and allies of all backgrounds are welcome. This is an opportunity to show support through presence and care while honoring the spirit of Hanukkah.
