BFC Babysitter & Family Helper Directory Information

Connecting Bedford families with local students and helpers.

The Bedford Family Connection (BFC) is excited to launch a pilot Members-Only Babysitter & Family Helper Directory.

This new resource helps connect families and local students who are interested in babysitting, mother’s helping, dog walking, or pet sitting — keeping connections close to home and within the Bedford community.

Whether you’re a parent who occasionally needs an extra hand, or a student hoping to gain experience and earn a little money, this directory was created to make those local connections easier.

For Families

Finding a reliable babysitter or helper shouldn’t be stressful — especially when you have little ones, busy schedules, or pets that need care.

BFC members will soon have private access to our Babysitter & Helper Directory featuring local middle school, high school, and adult helpers. Each listing includes the sitter’s age, experience, and general neighborhood area for easy matching.

Are you a BFC member searching for the Babysitter & Family Helper Directory?
You can now find it under our members-only Resources section here:
bfctoday.org/sitters

This exclusive directory connects BFC families with local babysitters, mother’s helpers, and pet sitters — all part of our growing Bedford community!

(You’ll need to be logged in as a current BFC member to view the directory.)

‍For Sitters & Helpers

Turn your free time into meaningful community connections and paid opportunities!

If you’re a Bedford middle or high school student (ages 12–18) who enjoys working with kids or animals, we’d love to include you in the BFC Babysitter & Helper Directory.

Benefits:

  • Free to join for students

  • Flexible, local, paid opportunities

  • Build experience and community connections

Adult helpers are welcome, too!

If you’re over 18 and would like to be listed as a babysitter, dog walker, or family helper, we ask that you make a small annual donation to BFC through bfctoday.org/sponsor or Venmo @BedfordFamilyConnection.

Your support helps fund community programming and can even sponsor a family membership — keeping BFC accessible to all.

We also encourage adult helpers to join our re-envisioned alumni membership, Friends of the BFC, to stay connected, support local families, and continue to be part of the Bedford Family Connection community.

Safety & Community

BFC provides this directory as a community resource only.

BFC does not screen, employ, or perform background checks on sitters.
Families are responsible for conducting their own interviews, reference checks, and supervision.

Our goal is simply to make local, trusted connections easier — while keeping our Bedford community close and supportive.

Stay Connected

Even if your children have “aged out” of BFC, you can still be part of our village!

Encourage your teens to sign up as helpers, or renew your membership as a Friend of BFC to help fund programs like this one and make family resources accessible to all.
